The club normally holds 4 gradings per year. During the lessons students will be taught set moves and a kata depending on their grade and some self defence which will be tested in order to achieve the next grade. The belt colours reach black belt and the sequence is as follows, white, red, orange, yellow, green, purple, purple/white, brown, brown/white, brown/double white and black.

It is possible to achieve a black within 3 years if a student regularly attends training lessons and does not miss a grading.
